The students of International Business and Finance gain thorough and comprehensive knowledge by pursuing a curriculum in line with the state of the art in the discipline of Economics and Finance and the requirements of the current domestic and international job markets. The curriculum enables the student to be mobile and prepared for professional activities and challenges of the modern world.
The studies are offered in English, which helps to continue improving business English and to learn other languages, thus acquiring high linguistic competences, both in speech and in writing. The graduates can continue their studies in English at higher educational levels in Europe and worldwide.
The graduates of first-cycle studies have the following general competences:
- Basic general knowledge of social sciences, in particular, economics and finance,
- Detailed knowledge in the field of their specialisation,
- Knowledge about the basic methods of data acquisition and processing proper to social sciences.
The graduates of first-cycle studies have the following general skills:
- Can use their knowledge in their professional work,
- Can use the basic methods of data acquisition and processing proper to the field of their specialisation,
- Can realise simple research tasks,
- Can logically draw conclusions and formulate judgments based on data from various sources,
- Can communicate with and consult specialists in their field and others concerned professionallly,
- Can continue learning independently,
- Can make decisions and organise work in a team,
- Can use a foreign language at the minimum level of B2 as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages accepted by the Council of Europe.
The graduates of first-cycle studies have the following general social competences:
- Ready to show independent initiative in professional activities,
- Ready to show responsibility for their own and others’ work,
- Ready to understand the fundamental principles of ethics, including their professional ethics,
- Ready to express judgments on important social and world affairs.
The graduates of International Business and Finance will find employment in public administration units of various levels focused around broadly-understood international cooperation as well as in the private sector, particularly in connection with foreign trade, finance, accounting, and management. Since the studies are offered in English, the graduates become good candidates for working in the Polish branches of international firms and corporations. They additionally gain knowledge and competence needed to start and run their own businesses in an international environment.
